How much does a trip to Bali cost?

It depends almost entirely on how you travel. Bali rewards going local: a dorm bed, warung meals and a scooter can keep you around £25–£40 (about $32–$50) a day. A mid-range holiday — a guesthouse or villa, a mix of cafés and a few tours — lands about £50–£90 a day. Add beach clubs, spas and a private driver and you're comfortably past £150 a day. Every preset comes from real 2026 island prices — or tick Enter my own prices to use figures you've already been quoted.

  • Where you sleep — dorms from ~IDR 175k, homestays IDR 250–450k, hotels & villas IDR 700k–1.5m a night.
  • Food — a warung meal is IDR 20–50k (under £2); café-and-restaurant days run several times that. See our full guide to Bali food costs.
  • Getting around — a scooter is IDR 70–100k a day; Grab/Gojek rides are cheap; a private driver day is IDR 600–800k.
  • The fixed bits — the IDR 150,000 tourist levy is mandatory for every visitor, and most tourists also pay a Visa on Arrival (about IDR 500,000).
